His loyal employee Bob Cratchit ( Mickey Mouse) requests to have half of Christmas Day off, to which Scrooge reluctantly accepts, but says Cratchit would be docked half a day's pay. He refuses to give money to a panhandler outside his office, declines his nephew Fred ( Donald Duck)'s invitation to Christmas dinner, then brushes off two gentlemen (Rat and Mole) fundraising aid for the poor. On Christmas Eve in 19th-century London, Ebenezer Scrooge (played by Scrooge McDuck) is a surly money-lender who is very selfish with his money and objects to the merriment of Christmas. Mickey is very excited to experience “Tomorrow’s technology today,” but when he asks Von Drake when they can see it, he says “Tomorrow, because that’s when it opens.” When the Artificial Intelligence opens the door while Von Drake isn’t looking, Mickey convinces Donald and Goofy to sneak inside with him. Professor Ludwig Von Drake leads Mickey and his pals on a tour outside of the house. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy experience tomorrow’s technology today when they sneak into Professor Von Drake's latest invention.
